Celebrating the national release of their new CD Collaborations, Will Taylor and Strings Attached, with guest singers Patrice Pike and Libby Kirkpatrick, Abra Moore, John Aielli perform a concert to benefit on Oct 1, 2005 at St. David’s to benefit CASA of Travis County.   $5.00 of each ticket sold will be donated to the CASA, an organization that advocates for abused and neglected children.  More info here: http://casatravis.org

As part of a 8 city tour to support CASA around Texas, we hope to raise awareness about the problem of child abuse in the U.S. and to help CASA support the children. CASAs are trained volunteers who are appointed by judges to help the courts deal with the overwhelmingly difficult and costly increase in child abuse cases.  The CASA volunteer is frequently the most consistent person in a child’s life and provides their only independent voice.

In fiscal year 2004, 4,260 CASA volunteers served 16,669 children in Texas.  Though these numbers are inspiring, there is still much to be done about child abuse in America.  For instance, in 2003, 50,208 children were confirmed as victims of child abuse or neglect in Texas alone.  There are currently 62 local CASA programs serving 185 counties in Texas, but CASA needs help to keep working so hard to bring CASA services to more of Texas’ 254 counties.

The new CD Collaborations features Strings Attached paired with nationally known artists like Grammy-nominated Eliza Gilkyson, Grammy-winning Shawn Colvin, Ian Moore, Patrice Pike, Libby Kirkpatrick and others. View a web presentation about the cd here: http://freemusicnow.com/StringsAttached.

Patrice Pike launched into the music scene as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the popular Austin band “Sister Seven”. With Sister Seven, she toured the United States and Western Europe, publicizing three independent releases and three major label albums. Through the years Patrice Pike has performed on stage with artists including Dave Matthews, Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, Blues Traveler, the Allman Brothers and the Indigo Girls as well as opening sets for the late great Ray Charles, Cake, Soul Asylum, Cheap Trick, The Neville Brothers and more.

Libby Kirkpatrick is an extremely powerful and original singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist, performing professionally since 1995. Libby’s third album, "Goodnight Venus" featured musicians who have worked with Peter Gabriel, The Indigo Girls, Sara McLaughlan, Ani DiFranco, Abra Moore, Lyle Lovett and more. Her wide vocal range, serious command of dynamics, and award-winning lyrics have earned her a solid regional following along the west coast, southwest and east coast.
